Mama's Day and Elise's Day

My family was very kind to me on Mother's Day. We had gone out to eat at our favorite barbecue place the night before and, for one reason or another, it made me totally sick! I'm still not sure if it was food poisoning or mere gluttony, but I was nauseated and feverish all day Sunday. Despite that, we went to church (just late enough for Connor to miss his chance to sing to me in Sacrament meeting - I was more disappointed than he was.) I did Sharing time, then got to attend Relief Society for the first time in awhile. They make the youth take over for all the women on Mother's Day so everybody exiled to Primary or Young Women's can go listen to the lesson! Anyway, it was nice. Later, when I was at home in bed feeling all yucky, my husband and kids made me dinner AND cleaned up (sorta.) Here are Connor and Elise "washing" dishes.

As a Mother's Day gift, Ryan got me a loveseat to match my Christmas couch, so we now have matching furniture! Like real people! I love it.

The next day was our sweet Leesie's birthday! She got lots of great presents in the mail (thank you, various family members), including this dancing ribbon thing.
Ryan got her a ridiculously expensive pink cake, which we had with (at her request) pink ice cream and pink candles. He tried to get her pink balloons, but the store had run out or something, so Connor wisely told them that if they gave them one white and one red, it would make pink. Elise seemed to think that was acceptable.

This is Elise with four of her presents: her birthday hat, flowered dress, stuffed bunny, and balloons.
What a funny, sweet, and tender-hearted girl she is. Every day I'm reminded of how thankful I am that Elise is part of our family. We love you Leesie! Happy third birthday!

I love her "happy face" while helping with the dishes. It's almost as animated in each one of her birthday pictures. ;)
Glad you had a good Mother's day, I always loved when I got to just go to Relief Society. Some women don't get how hard it is to be as you would say, EXILED to Primary and Young Women, (Basically the ones that aren't there). A very correct description, if I do say so, myself. Happy Birthday to your cute little Elise. I want one of those cakes just for me.
