Monster Trucks and Landslides

One chilly evening, (I believe it was during, ahem, the priesthood session of General Conference), Ryan and our neighbor took the kids to a monster truck show at the Irwindale Speedway.  I didn't really think it would be great for a baby, so I stayed home with Evan.  Because of that, I'm afraid I don't know all the highlights of the outing, but here are the pictures!

Yeah, it was loud, so Ryan took earplugs for the kids.
You can barely see it, but there's a motorcycle jumping over a semi.
This truck was set up as a display.
We took an afternoon drive up the canyon one day, and met a motorcyclist coming down who was making strange arm signals and pointing behind him.  We thought he was warning us of more motorcycles, until we came upon this:

Connor's doing a school project on earthquakes and landslides, so we took a picture.
As I was taking this, I suddenly realized how unsafe this whole picture was. (They hurried back to the car.)
Connor got a Real Construction set for his birthday, and his best creation to date was this alligator.  If you haven't heard of it, it's a brand of foam wood pieces and plastic tools that kids can use without amputating anything.  Plus, it's only a little bit messy.

The mouth opens and closes (so does the one on the alligator.)
I had to get a picture of this, just 'cause.  Evan kept pressing his face against the dryer to feel the warmth.  He'd look at it for a second, then press his cheek to it again.  Cutie.

I love the alligator. So was that like a car race thing? I woulda stayed home with evan, i dont unerstand the appeal, and watching it on tv makes even less sense to me. And way to put your kids in danger for a picture. Thats a sign of a dedicated blogger.
